Anaconda HBX is a new generation single component joint sealant and high strength adhesive. It is based on new Hybrid X Technology, is chemically neutral and fully elastic.
White can be used in food preparation areas, making it ideal for the construction and repair of fast food vans and trailers.
HBX is formulated for use in low movement joints in construction, automotive and marine and areas where a tough, flexible and waterproof rubber seal is required.
Suitable for bonding and sealing in caravans, motorhomes, cars, vans, commercial vehicles, industrial and refrigerated trailers, etc. Used extensively to bond after market body kits, wheel arches, onto many vehicles, and solar panels, aerials onto caravans etc. Highly resistant to UV degradation means it won’t go yellow in sunlight, and excellent resistance to all weathers.
Prior testing for paint is highly recommended, and if the application is always to be overpainted, then we recommend using Tradeseal PU40FC Easygun instead.
HBX is suitable for bonding and sealing in sandwich panel manufacture, sign-making and fixing,
composite panels, ducting, metal constructions which are subject to vibration, etc. HBX is also suitable for bonding and sealing in the building industry, internal and external. The adhesion is excellent on a wide range of substrates including tiles, plaster / plasterboard, glass, timber and timber based products, PVC hygienic cladding, uPVC frames and trims, most metals, polystyrene, stone, concrete, etc.
HBX is UKCA marked to seal internal facades.
HBX is also used to bond and seal elements which may be subject to vibrations or
deformations.
Not suitable for certain low surface energy plastics like Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Polythene, Teflon. Avoid contact with oils, plasticisers, or substrates like bitumen, asphalt silicone, etc.
Substrates to be sealed / bonded must me clean, dry (HBX will bond in the wet but the final
strength may be reduced), and free from dirt, dust, grease, and other contaminants. If cleaning
is required use Anaconda Adhesion Promoter, but check compatibility with substrate prior to
using solvent.
Extrude HBX from a normal mastic gun, and fill joint, tooling with a putty knife or similar dipped in soapy water. For adhesive use, either gun onto one surface in a wavy pattern, then bring the two surfaces together immediately. If a full bond is required, gun HBX onto the surface and comb out using a glue spreader prior to bringing the surface together. Smooth out the surfaces immediately to get a flat surface. It is important to leave a bond line with this type of elastomeric adhesive, i.e. the adhesive layer should be between 1mm and 2mm thick, do not squeeze the bond line to zero.
Coverage: A 290ml cartridge is sufficient to seal approximately 9 linear metres with a 6mm bead.
